We recognise that our business has an important role to play in protecting and enhancing the environment for future generations and to help secure the long-term sustainability of the Hotel Industry.

To this end, we the Carlton Hotel Dublin Airport are committed to taking the following actions:

To achieve sound environmental practices across our entire operation
To produce an annual Environmental Plan setting out our Objectives, Targets and planned Actions
To comply fully with all relevant legislation
To minimise our waste and reduce our water consumption where possible
To Reduce, Reuse, Recycle the resources consumed by our business wherever practical
To invite our suppliers and contractors to participate in our efforts to protect the environment
To provide all employees with the training and resources required to meet our objectives
To monitor and record our environmental impacts on regular basis and compare our performance with our policies, objectives and target

Our customers and guests will be made aware of our initiatives and we will encourage them to help us achieve our environmental goals. This is what we achieved so far and what our targets are for 2008:

Energy: We have reduced our consumption by 9% and our target is to reduce it by further 6% in 2008
Water: We reduced our consumption by 524 cubic metres and target is to decrease it by further 15% in 2008
Waste: We reduced our landfill waste by 3.5 tones and our target is to reduce it by further 2 tones
Green purchasing-to make sure that 80% of all light bulbs are long life
To buy locally thus supporting the local community
To use eco-friendly cleansers and detergents wherever possible
